The Biagiotti Progetto Arte Foundation is pleased to invite you on Wednesday, June 13th at 6pm to the opening of the exhibition Andrea Mastrovito. Collages 2003-2012.
The exhibition brings together some of Mastrovito’s most important collages, created for exhibitions in museums, galleries and foundations in Italy and the United States.
The collaboration between the Biagiotti Progetto Arte and Andrea Mastrovito started more than fifteen years ago. Over the years Mastrovito was involved with the foundation in group and solo exhibitions, such as Wild Beast Caged (2005), The Origin of the Species (2008), Round Robin (2010) and Ceci n’est pas une idèe (2014), and in national and international fairs.

Andrea Mastrovito (Bergamo, 1978) lives and works in New York City.
His work is characterized by the reinvention of exhibition spaces and the use of basic techniques such as design, carving and inlay, and more complex techniques, as in the case of synchronized video installations and films.
During his career, his work has been shown in major national and international museums, including the MAXXI Museum in Rome, the Museo del Novecento in Milan, the MART Museum in Rovereto, the Pecci Museum in Prato, BPS 22 – Musée d’art de la Province de Hainaut in Charleroi, Belgium, the Manchester Art Gallery, the MUDAC in Lausanne, the Laznia Center in Gdansk and the MAD Museum in New York.

A selection of his most recent exhibitions include Symphony of a Century, Kunsthalle Osnabruck (Osnabruck, 2018), Le Jardin des Histoires du Monde, Art Bartschi & Cie (Geneva, 2018), Here the dreamers sleep, Andersen Museum (Rome, 2015), N’importe ou, hors du monde, Chateau des Adhemar (Montelimar, 2015), The Disparates, Ryan Lee Gallery (New York, 2015), At the end of the line, GAMeC – Galleria d’arte moderna e contemporanea (Bergamo, 2014), Le Cinque Giornate, Museo del Novecento (Milan, 2011).

His works are present in many of the major Italian private collections as well as the collections of several museums such as the Museo del Novecento in Milan, the MUDAM in Luxembourg, the Manchester Art Gallery, the Mart in Rovereto, the GAMEC in Bergamo.

In 2007 he won the New York Prize, awarded by The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in 2012 the Moroso Prize and in 2016 the Ermanno Casoli Prize. In 2017 he presented in New York his first animated feature film, NYsferatu – Symphony of a Century in different locations including the Queens Museum and Magazzino Italian Art.
