The importante of organic farming and km0 agriculture

Peter Caton

Conference curated by Fairmenti

The Biagiotti Progetto Arte Foundation is pleased to invite you on Thursday December 15th, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. to the second round of the EcoTalk cycle, a series of in-depth lectures on specific topics related to the environment.

The conference by Fairmenti aims to give new meaning to concepts such as organic food, producing km zero, and short chain with a focus on the Tuscan territory, in order to draw a clear profile on the meaning that the word “sustainable” has today.

Critical consumption means asking questions about the consequences and implications of the choices we make when we buy a product.
The considerations in this regard are many and involve an analysis of raw materials, their origin and the impact that their acquisition has on the environment and on the people involved in a given supply chain.
When our consumption is about what we eat, more variables come into play. The most important of which is the nutritional value of our food which depends on the quality of the environment, the land and the labor by which the food is produced.

FairMenti is an association of Tuscan social promotion that seeks to combine respect for human rights and nature. The association’s goal is to promote fair trade, organic, sustainable lifestyles and safeguard the ecosystem.
